dear readers and rubix cube solvers !
i wrote 2 artciles about how to solve a rubix cube.
The first one: How to Solve a Rubix Cube in Different Methods - Solving the rubix cube is not an easy task. In fact for the majority of the people this task is so hard, that they leave it after few days and never solving it. By learning these simple methods you will be able to solve it quickly and efficiently.
The second is How to Solve a Rubix Cube Revenge 4x4x4 and the 3rd how to solve a rubix cube fast. The Rubix cube is the second easiest puzzle in the world. The first easiest is the Rubix Pocket Cube, which is just the corner solution algorithm. Actually, Pyraminx and a couple of others that were popular around the time of Rubix Cube are much, much easier than even the Pocket Cube. But once you have mastered the Cube, a lot of others become much easier for you.
hope you will find them helpful :)
I recently received a Rubix Cube to the 4th dimension puzzle as a
Xmas gift. I have must admit I’ve not experimented with these cubes
when they first came out years ago. Now I am more receptive to trying
to solve it since I now have my very own puzzle. I have been looking
for books that provide hints to solutions and have had no luck.
I was given a title to peruse, “The Simple Solution to Rubix Cube”
by James G. Nourse, but it is out of print and cannot be ordered. My
local library didn’t seem to have anything either. Does anyone
recommend any other good books and where my I look for them?
anyway here are a nice collection of great quotes:

I have six different Star Wars Saga Rubix Cube Puzzles. These are
collectible, limited edition Episode II interactive premiums. Each
Cube illustrates an important connection between two characters in the
Star Wars Saga, e.g., Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader or Padmé
Amidala/Princess Leia.
I also have the life-sized Clone Trooper Mask packaged with two boxes
of the new Kellogg’s limited-edition Star Wars cereal. The cereal is
made up of a mix of purple and orange oat stars with clone trooper
helmet-shaped cookies. The cereal packaging comes with a Star Wars
game on a third on-pack panel and a unique magazine/poster-in-one
featuring a full-sized movie poster on one side and a synopsis of the
Star Wars saga on the back.
My Rubix Cube Solutions manual says there are 43 quintillion
combinations. Also it says the world’s record is 22.95 seconds in
solving the cube. And the most fascinating is, “Theoretically the
shortest path to solving Rubik’s Cube from any scrambled position is
as few as 22 twists. So far no one has succeeded in demonstrating this
method.”
Does anyone know how they calculate this ‘theoretical’ number of
moves? Also, I’ve been toying with the idea of having the computer
figure out how to solve the cube in the least possible moves.
It’s not easy. Could someone give me some suggestions on how this
could be done? I was thinking that the computer would have to
‘remember’ certain patterns, and ‘get smarter’ based upon these
patterns. Sound like a neural net problem?
Anyway, has anyone already done this? Is there any code out there
involving the Rubix Cube? Please point me in the right direction.
I was wondering if it is still possible to buy an original Rubix cube
(not the new ‘copies’ i.e the magic cube). Has anyone seen one of
these items anywhere around Belfast or would someone be prepared to
sell me the old one they have lying about the house.
Hi. An odd request, this, but a semi-desperate one, sad as that may
be. The guy who I share an apartment with brought home a Rubix Cube
(tm) from Alaska this January. He stole it from his family, and it’s
one of those really sad looking ones that’s had it’s stickers peeled and
replaced repeatedly, in the grand American tradition of attemping to
circumvent the work and leap straight to the (now hollow) reward.
But anyway. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been playing with the rubix cube and analyzing it compulsvely (you guys wouldn’t believe how many ways
there are to solve these things) and it’s really beginning to look
exremely sad. Some of the stickers are beginning to come off
altogether, and then it will of course be useless, so now it’s in
retirement on my shelf. I’ve looked at both Toys backwards-R Us’s, and
numerous KayBee’s to no avail. Does anyone know where to get a Rubik’s
cube, or have one that they wouldn’t mind giving away/selling?
While visiting my grandfather in Albequerque NM I found out that he has
been using instructions I wrote for him over 14 years ago to solve Rubix
cube. Apparently this is his sole purpose in life. Ok, this is something
her does to keep his mind active. Unfortunatly, it appears he has lost at
least one page of the solution. He does not have a move that moves pieces
from the middle side to the middle bottom. If that makes sense to you
then you know what I mean :)
My instructions look kind of familiar and sort of ring a bell, but I
haven’t the slightest idea what is missing. We spent the whole weekend
trying to figure out what was missing.
Could someone provide me with a concise solution or point me to a place to
find one (other than the obvious “go to the librar”)? I will
translate the solution into grandpa-ese and send it too him. Believe me,
it will make his year.
